Baron Oil Expanding Activities into South-East Asia

Baron Oil PLC (LON:BOIL), an AIM listed company, is expanding its operations. Thus, the company will be working with SundaGas, a firm based in Singapore, to identify any prospects in south-east Asia.

Dr. Andy Butler, Mitra Energy’s former business development director and who worked for Hess Corp for ten years, founded SundaGas.

Baron Oil currently has interests in Colombia and Peru.

Bill Colvin, the CEO, explained that it is an excellent chance for Baron to start up operations in an area where not only do governments offer their full support making production and exploration easy, but there is also a significant demand for gas and oil, which makes the area one of the few in the world to offer such good conditions.

He also explained that the company is especially interested in gas-based projects because of the long-term stability of the price. Through the partnership with SundaGas, the company will be able to access their deal flow and experience, putting Baron in an excellent position, which would have taken them years to achieve on their own.
